Back by popular demand! These tend to sell out quickly, folks.
Fall mini sessions are here and we’ll sneak them in with enough time for Christmas!
This year, I’ve chosen another “off the beaten path” location that I’m intimately familiar with. It’s off the road so that your little ones can run around safely while I work my magic.
You can expect a standard family portrait plus the casual imagery I’m known for–think snuggles, chasing, leaf fights, and a few wide angles that take advantage of the fall colors!
Who? You and your immediate family.
Where? Speight Branch Greenway across from 1450 Tryon Manor Dr, Cary, NC 27518
When? November 5, 2016 from 4-5PM (with November 6, 2016 from 4-5PM as rain date)
How much? $100 includes 3 free mini books if you book by Friday, October 7, 2016. (Expect 5-10 images to choose from.)
Any bonuses? Any order over $550 will receive free digital images PLUS $550 in product. Decide what to purchase after you see your images. Most clients spent between $100-$400 for various package levels. Plus, get a $25 credit for each friend you refer that also books a session this year!
Questions? Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or text me at 919-610-8621.
My backyard happens to have pretty epic light and the perfect area for kids to run around.
Step 1: Bring them over in their outfit.
Step 2: Let me shoot a few photos.
Step 3: Head home to trick or treat with candy (or a non-candy treat) from me to kick off the evening!
As a parent, I have to pick and choose where I invest my time. Halloween costumes are at the top of my list with jacked up homemade birthday cakes a close second. At the moment, we are furiously customizing a pair of costumes from the TV show Blaze. My 2 year old wants to be the mechanic Gabby who I can barely find a photo of on the Internet. But we’ve created a costume he approves of. And my older son wants a custom spoiler and paint job on his outfit.
If your family is into snagging the dream costume for $15.77 at WalMart like my friend Megan and Katie, your kid wants to show that thing off. It matters that they can transform into Elsa for the night with the perfectly sparkly dress and long braid.
THIS IS THE STUFF OF CHILDHOOD, YOU GUYS! Let’s take some flipping pictures.
Phone photos cut it but imagine a photo of your child in their favorite costume with a giant smile gracing your walls each time you walk in the house. It’s been shown that kids have an increase in self esteem when their images are on the walls. That’s why I’m bringing this to you. Quick, easy, and hugely gratifying.
Who? Your children in their costumes.
Where? 2330 School Creek Place, Raleigh, NC 27606
When? October 31, 2016 from 4:15pm – 5:15pm
How much? $50 per child plus $25 per additional child (choose among 5-10 individual and group photos of your children)
Any bonuses? The price includes one beautiful 8×10 Fuji Deep Matte print and the option to upgrade once you see the photos. Plus, get a $25 credit for each friend you refer that also books a session this year!
Questions? Email me at email@example.com or text me at 919-610-8621.
It’s time for action.
I can’t do everything, but as as we grieve with the city of Orlando and the LGBT population across the US, I can do THIS:
From now until June 30th at midnight, I’m auctioning off one full session and all of the proceeds will benefit the LGBT Center of Raleigh.
The package will include a one hour session in your home or at a Raleigh location that means a lot to your family, 10 of your favorite digital images, and a mounted 8×10 of your choice. The session will need be to scheduled before August 30th, 2016.
This package is worth $600 folks!
Plus, anyone who bids will receive a free 8×10 at their next session booked in the next 12 months. I mean, it would be lovely to take massive political action but I’d rather care for our brothers and sisters who are hurting and feeling vulnerable first.
AUCTION ENDS JUNE 30 at 8pm!
Will you join me? You can bid below using the weirdly archaic looking auction window below (it does the job!).
P.S. Never heard of me before? Here’s a video that shows what I’m about along with some of my favorite images.

I’ve never opened up mini family sessions in the spring, ever, in 5 years of being in business.
As I celebrate this notable anniversary, I stop and reflect that I’m still here. (What a weird thing to say, right? But those statistics about how often businesses fail were pretty sobering at the beginning!) I’m so grateful to the hundreds of families who have welcomed me in. Family photos are important work. So many families dread the experience and I hope that I’m doing my best to gradually change that. (You can see how in my video here.)
We’ll be meeting in this exact field and as always, I’ll be focusing more on connection and less on a formal family portrait. There may be dancing, tickling, snuggling, and spinning. Please wear whatever you feel comfortable in and I’ll make sure to direct you along the way. I’m guessing you probably haven’t done this in a while. I’ve also created a few special packages just for the occasion that are budget friendly (starting at just $200).
You can see this family’s entire session below for an idea of what to expect. If you are ready to go for it, make sure you book by April 8, 2016 to get your session fee taken care of for just $50.
Over the years, Halloween costumes have become one of my things as a mom. I’m not much into assembling Pinterest activities and I’ve quit throwing
lavish any birthday parties because they stress me out.
But man, I LOVE COSTUMES.
Here’s the history of Rotenberg Costumes. In 2012, we had a baby owl in a tree. In 2013, Super E saved the day with his undies on the outside. And in 2014, the tortoise and the hare came to life.
This year, there was no way to sidestep our current obsession: Cars. “Ka-Chow” and “May-May” better known as Lightning McQueen and Mater came to life using some cardboard boxes, a ton of hot glue, paper, scissors, spray paint, some bent paper plates, and a simply lemonade lid. Below is the entire set of photos I took one fall evening when the boys got to play with their costumes for the first time.
But before I send you off to check them out, I’m giving away our last prize courtesy of the generous folks at Peaceable Kingdom. A copy of Hoot Owl Hoot!, an award-winning cooperative game for kids will be given to one lucky fan (as determined by my secret guest judge).
Just Instagram a photo of your kiddos all dressed up and use the hashtag #jrphalloweengiveaway by November 2, 2015 at midnight.
P.S. A few I’m just purchasing using affiliate link income. This page also contains affiliate links and if you chose to use them, bravo to you for helping me make these giveaways possible!
