This post has zero photos in it for you today. Because there are ZERO photos on my computer right now. Why? Before you read the next sentence, know that all is well now.
There are no photos in this post because in the same week, my backup hard drive and my main hard drive both crashed.
For the last four days, I’ve had zero access to every photo I’ve ever taken, every photo taken for me, every client image, every photo of my son, every file for my business, our personal finances, important word documents. You name it, IT’S NOT ON MY COMPUTER. My hard drives are TOAST. As I was setting up the new backup, the main drive crashed and it was too late.
But thanks to my THIRD backup, I’m simply paying a small fee and the contents of my entire computer is being mailed to me. Crisis averted.
And for only $50 per year! (Plus the cost of the drive they are mailing me.) A service called Backblaze works day and night to make a copy of each file on my computer and I don’t do a thing. Plus, I can access all of my files individually whenever I want. Guys, I have nearly 900 GB stored with them. If this isn’t the best deal on the face of planet earth, I’m not sure what is.
Here is a friendly reminder to backup YOUR computer. This weekend. I know it’s a pain. I know you wonder if it will ever be useful. I know you can’t be bothered to figure out how to do it.
Backblaze is my favorite service. There are others that I hear are great such as Carbonite, Crashplan, and Mozy. These services are cheap, easy, and don’t require much of your time or effort.
Once my drive arrives, I’ll be back at posting some of the sessions from earlier this summer! Stay tuned!
P.S. Rest in peace little hard drives, you’ve served me well (until now, you pains in the neck)!
