One day, when I’m rich and famous, I’ll built a huge photography office space complete with a mini studio.

Until then, I’m stuck using the guest bedroom on the occasions that I need a studio setup. On Wednesday, I invited a friend and her son over to practice a few things and set up this studio in about 5 minutes. For full disclosure, my husband and I have been sleeping in the guest room for the last month. You see, we still have a baby in the house who needs comfort at night and our master bedroom is downstairs. We’re making it work. Fellow parents, we’ve all been there!

Here’s a sneak peek at the setup! I made the bed and covered the stop with fluffy cream comforter and fresh pillows. I set up my 107″ Thunder Gray Savage Background paper behind the bed. Then I set up my Alien Bee 800 with huge octobox camera right. The soft window light coming from the left acts as the perfect fill light.

I’ll be posting pictures from the session next week! Bonus, it involves a kiddo in pajamas, my favorite.
