For those that don’t know, my maiden name is Badger. That makes any trip to Wisconsin special to me for a very silly reason. Enjoy these few snapshots!
First up, a trip to the capitol!
We saw this protestor many times over the span of a few hours. I hope he is celebrating the good news tonight.
During our walk down state street, a nice guy at The Orpheum Theatre allowed us in to take a quick tour.
Note for my fellow photographers: that ISO 12,800 isn’t too terrible in a pitch black room. See?
As seen on a college campus…
We ended the trip with a nice trip to the Henry Vilas Zoo. There is alot in Madison with the Vilas name. After doing a little research, I learned that the Zoo was named for William and Anna Vilas’s son, Henry, who died at a young age. They donated the land and stipulated that the zoo always admit visitors at no cost. How wonderful is that?
And of course, the badger was “napping,” but I still think he’s pretty cute.
And what’s Wisconsin without a cow? Ok, he is a statue, and he looks either curious or sad. But he’s a cow.
